We've broken down the state's top 20 players into two teams -- one of position players and one of pitchers. Keep in mind, these preseason selections were determined by a combination of in-season performance and recruit rankings.

David Badalucco, Omaha Westside, OF, Senior
Hit .484 during stellar junior campaign.

Kevin Connolly, Creighton Prep, OF, Senior
Notre Dame-bound outfielder hit .429 as a junior.

Quinten Conrad, Elkhorn South, C, Senior
Solid defender and hit .367 last season; headed to Iowa.

Matt Jones, Gretna, 2B/SS/3B, Senior
All-state infielder hit .400 during junior season.

Tanner Kirk, Lincoln Southeast, SS/2B, Senior
Excellent defender has signed on with Wichita State.

Josh Kramer, Papillion-La Vista, OF, Senior
Hit .419 as a junior and was honorable mention All-State.

Brett Murray, Omaha Westside, 1B, Senior
Honorable mention All-State player is headed to Hill College.

Jake Placzek, Papillion-Vista, SS/P, Senior
Started at short since freshman year; Hit .429 last season.

Jakson Reetz, Norris, OF/C/RHP, Sophomore
Burst onto scene by hitting .514 his freshman season.

T.J. Wood, Creighton Prep, OF/P, Senior
Solid defensive player landed on All-State honorable mention in 2011.


Will Bamesberger, Grand Island, LHP, Senior
Southpaw will stay close to home and pitch for Creighton.

Nate Ek, Columbus, RHP/IF, Junior
Hit .390 and went 5-1 on the mound as a sophomore.

Greggory Gausden, Elkhorn South, RHP/2B/3B, Senior
All-around athlete will play at Colby Community College.

Nate Griep, Millard West, RHP/OF, Senior
Hard thrower has signed with Kansas State; went 6-2 in 2011.

Austin Groth, South Sioux City, RHP, Senior
Went 4-2 on the mound as a junior; signed with Creighton.

Jake Hohensee, Lincoln East, RHP, Junior
Struck out 49 batters as a sophomore.

Albert Johnson, Papillion-La Vista South, RHP/3B, Senior
His 8-2 record helped him land on All-Nebraska first team.

Ryan MacDonald, Lincoln Southeast, RHP, Senior
Went 6-1 with a sub-2.00 ERA as a junior last spring.

Adam Wilson, Creighton Prep, RHP, Junior
Went 13-2 in high school and Legion ball last year.

Braden Young, Lincoln Southwest, RHP, Junior
Verbally committed to Nebraska; Struck out 45 as a sophomore.
