Iverson starred in football and basketball in high school

After 12 years in the NBA, Allen Iverson has been a Rookie of the Year, NBA Most Valuable Player and a nine-time All-Star selection.
Growing up in Hampton, Va., Iverson was a two-sport star at Bethel High School. As a junior, Iverson starred at quarterback for Bethel leading the team to a state championship.

On the basketball courts, Iverson's story is well known. After starring at Georgetown, he was the No. 1 overall draft pick in the 1996 NBA Draft.
