Jordan HS games move to Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Jordan Brand Classic high school basketball All-Star games are moving to Michael Jordan's arena.
Sponsor Nike announced Tuesday that the event scheduled for April 16 will shift from Madison Square Garden in New York to Charlotte's Time Warner Cable Arena. The facility is home to and managed by the Jordan-owned Charlotte Bobcats.
Many of the country's top prep players will square off in a national game. There also will be a game featuring top 17-and-under international players and a regional game featuring high school players from North Carolina.
NBA stars who have played in the national game in the past include Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, Chris Paul and 2006 MVP Kevin Durant, who attended Tuesday's announcement before his Oklahoma City Thunder faced the Bobcats.
