All-State Hoops: Delaware

With the 2011-12 hoops season set to tip off, ESPNHS has all the info you need on the top players in Delaware.

We've broken down the state's top 20 players into four teams based on their talent. Keep in mind, these preseason selections are based on past accomplishments and projected on-court performance in addition to recruit rankings.

First team


G: Tim Massado, St. Elizabeth, 5-10, Senior
Massado was the 2010-11 Delaware ESPN RISE Gatorade Player of Year.

G: Ajen English, Appoquinimink, 6-1/175, Senior
Versatile guard is gaining interest on the recruiting trail.

G: Andre Gibbs, Smyrna, 5-8/160, Senior
Gibbs hit the 1,000-point milestone as a junior.

G: Khallid Hart, Sanford, 6-1/175, Senior
Combo guard was second-team all-state last season.

F: Eric Laster, Polytech, 6-5/185, Senior
As a junior, he earned first-team all-state honors.


Second team


G: Ray Anderson, St. George's Tech, 6-0/155, Senior
Anderson will be St. George's go-to guy this season.

G: Austin Tilghman, St. Andrews, 6-0/155, Sophomore
Tilghman burst onto scene as a freshman who played like a seasoned vet.

F: Norville Carey, Red Lion Christian, 6-6, Senior
Carey was named honorable mention all-state as a junior.

F: Shikei Blake, Howard, 6-5, Junior
Blake was named second-team all-state forward as a sophomore.

F: Andre Horne, Hodgson, 6-6/185, Senior
Shooting guard is great off the dribble and a solid defender.


Third team


G: Parris Ridgeway-Higgs, Hodgson, 5-10/165, Senior
He was named a third-team all-state selection last year.

G: Deon Edwin, Red Lion Christian, 6-4, Senior
The strong finisher averaged 15.1 points per game last season.

G: Tyaire Hudson, Hodgson, 5-9, Senior
Hudson was named honorable mention all-state selection last season.

F: Terrell Sturdivant, Glasgow, 6-6, Sophomore
Sturdivant is one of the top sophomores in the tri-state area.

F: Andre Patton, St. Elizabeth, 6-4, Junior
The all-state forward is also a top threat on the football field.


Fourth team


G: Issac Fleming, William Penn, 6-1/194, Junior
The big-time scorer is also a standout running back.

G: Tomir Gibbs, Brandywine, 6-0/160, Senior
He averaged 20 points per game as a sophomore and junior.

G: Antonio DePina, Polytech, 6-2, Junior
The pesky guard is gaining interest on the recruiting trail.

F: Zach Walker, Dover, 6-5, Senior
He averaged 12 points and seven rebounds last season.

F: Austin Ford, Sanford, 6-5, Junior
He helped powerhouse Sanford to win state title last season.
