About Lauren Bohaboy

Bohaboy FamilyLauren Bohaboy, who played a major part in Santa Margarita's league title showing, is the most recent addition to the blogger team.
The Division 1 CIF-Southern Section playoff pairings were announced Monday. Thirty-eight Division 1 teams from Southern California were selected. Since we won our league we were given a No. 1 seed. Our first match will be at home on Friday and we will play the winner of the Mira Costa vs. Newbury Park wild card match.

There are five other wild card matches that will be played on Wednesday. One of the wild card teams that I know the most about is Aliso Niguel. My club coach, Randy Dodge, coaches the Aliso Niguel team and I know Randy will have his team well prepared and ready to go.

One of the things I enjoy about playing high school soccer is that I get to compete against girls that I usually play together with on my club team. Girls from the So Cal Blues -- Dodge team play on eight of the teams that qualified for the Division 1 CIF playoffs this year.

Katie Gallanes and Erica Mazeau both play on the current No. 1 ranked team in Orange County, Esperanza. They have to be one of the teams favored to win it all.

Natalie Werner and Jessica Mandarich both play for Trabuco Hills. They could face Esperanza in a second round match on Feb. 24.

Courtney Assuma plays for Temecula Valley and my team could face them in a second round match if we are both fortunate enough to get past the first round.

Torey Markowitz plays for Tesoro and Haley Rosen represents Palos Verdes. They have a potential second round match as well.

Emily Goldstein plays for El Toro. They are the No. 1 seed from the Sea View league and went undefeated this year in league play. Emily could face Kim Marshall's team, Wilson of Long Beach in the quarterfinals which will be played on Feb. 26.

I guess there is a pretty good chance that someone from the So Cal Blues Dodge team is going to win a CIF ring this year.
