Rankings reflect matches played through Sunday, Feb. 19.

For the second straight year, the POWERADE FAB 50 Winter No. 1 team resides in Florida.

Cypress Bay (Weston, Fla.), featuring nine players from the Development Academy Weston FC roster in a school of 4,000 students, rolled to a second straight Florida large-school state title over the weekend to cap an undefeated season and extend the program's undefeated run to 34 matches.

Although the winter season will not wrap up until April, no winter high school team can match the combination of top-end talent and results this season as Cypress Bay offers.

Last year, Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.) finished No. 1.

23-0-2Season complete. Florida Class 5A state champion. Cypress Bay ran right past Mandarin in the state final and into the record books. The quick-strike Lightning scored twice in the first 20 minutes and two more times in the final 20 in a 4-1 state final victory in which the outcome was never in doubt. Junior Daniel Jensen, who has scored 12 goals in 13 US Soccer Development Academy matches, netted a pair of goals in the state final. Stony Brook signee Martin Giordano and junior Javier Clavijo, both Academy starters, scored the other goals. The Lightning played the final without Central Florida goalkeeper commit Zach Biggs, who was serving the second of a two-match red-card suspension. Cypress Bay became only the fourth school to defend its large-school state title in Florida soccer history. In addition, coach Juan Ramos claimed his fifth state title, three at American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.) and two with Cypress Bay.

Coppell, TX
16-0-1Coppell was held to a scoreless draw by Keller last week in a meeting between the top two teams in the District 7-5A race.

15-0-1Elsik got through the weekend unblemished despite playing without star forward Kayode George, who was competing in the U.S. Youth Soccer National League event in Weston, Fla.
4 (4)Montverde Academy
Montverde, FL
23-0-4Season complete. Montverde Academy completed a second straight undefeated season, and in the process extended its undefeated streak to a national best 52 matches. The team went 6-0-4 against teams that have appeared in the POWERADE FAB 50. Seven Montverde seniors have commited to NCAA Division I programs: David Graydon, Donte Brangman and Jair Minors to St. Louis University, Joao Ramalho and Henrique Novaes to East Tennessee State, Luis Fernando Vega to Florida Gulf Coast University and Juan Jose Morales to Mercer. Morales finished with a team-best 32 goals despite sustaining a season-ending injury late in the season. Graydon led the squad with 18 assists. Montverde Academy outscored its opponents 114-12.

23-0Junior Miguel Vilchis' goal carried El Rancho to a 1-0 victory over Duarte and into the second round of the CIF-Southern Section playoffs.

Houston, TX
13-0-2Jonathan Palma scored both goals and the Dobie defense earned its 11th shutout of the season in a 2-0 district win over Pasadena.

16-0-3Despite an undefeated season and the best record among all Division I programs in the CIF-Central Coast Section, Alisal received the No. 5 seed for the upcoming playoffs. The team's seeding has it on course for a possible section semifinal meeting with Menlo-Atherton.

10-1Berkner suffered an upset loss last week, its first blemsih of the season, yet remains tied for first in the district with Jesuit.
9 (9)Jesuit Prep School
Dallas, TX
11-1Jesuit's two shutout wins last week mean the Rangers have surrendered only two goals during its last 10 matches.
10 (10)San Pasqual
Escondido, CA
18-1-1San Pasqual earned the No. 1 seed in this week's CIF-San Diego Division I tournament. The team receives a first-round bye and gets to face the Carlsbad-Grossmont winner in the quarterfinal round Friday.
11 (11)Boca Raton Community
Boca Raton, FL
20-2-4Season complete. Florida Class 5A state semifinalist. Boca Raton's season ended with a 3-1 loss to Cypress Bay in the state semifinals. With nine starters projected to return next year, Boca Raton likely will be the preseason Class 5A favorite and a high-ranked team in the POWERADE FAB 50.

27-1-4Kyle Wilson's late goal gave Jesuit a 3-2 victory over St. Thomas More and a rematch with St. Paul's for the Louisiana Division 1 state title. Last year, St. Paul's ended Jesuit's undefeated streak at 94 matches in the state final. Philip Hicks and Charles Mansour also scored in Jesuit's victory.
13 (13)Hamilton

23-3Season complete. Arizona Division I state champion. Hamilton claimed its first-ever state title with a 2-1 victory over Brophy College Prep in a match that went four overtime sessions. Hamilton, playing in its third straight state final, trailed 1-0 late in the second half before junior Jordan Fletcher scored to knot the contest at 1. The match went through two 10-minute overtime sessions, then with 3:26 left in the second five-minute goal golden, Fletcher converted the winner. Hamilton had lost to Brophy during the semifinals of the Arizona Soccer Showcase, the same event in which the Huskies defeated California power Servite.

Anaheim, CA
22-3-3Servite survived a shootout with wild-card entry Mira Costa to advance in the CIF-Southern Section Division I playoffs. The match ended at 1, with Servite advancing 5-4 on PKs.
15 (15)Ventura
Ventura, CA
21-0-6Ventura jumped out to a 2-0 lead and then held on in a wild finish for a 4-2 win over Agoura in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Division 1 playoffs. Agoura had not conceded three goals -- let alone four -- since Dec. 6. Ventura advances to face St. Francis-La Canada on Tuesday. Interestingly, St. Francis bounced Ventura from the playoffs last season.
16 (16)Brophy Prep School
Phoenix, AZ
20-3-1Season complete. Arizona Division I state runner-up. Brophy Prep was less than 11 minutes away from a second straight state title, but ended up on the losing end of a 2-1 decision in four overtimes to Hamilton. Virginia commit Riggs Lennon scored his 51st goal of the season, which was the only match until 10:26 left in regulation. Brophy keeper Nate Sundermeier turned away several Hamilton chances to keep Brophy close throughout the second half and overtime. During the season, Brophy won the Arizona Soccer Showcase and placed third at the Montverde Academy Soccer Tournament in Florida.

Plano, TX
8-2-5Plano defeated Marcus and Lewisville last week to work its way back into the District 8-5A race. Five of the district's eight teams have only one league loss.

McKinney, TX
9-1-4Grayson McMurry scored three goals last week in Boyd's two victories.
19 (24)Fleming Island
Orange Park, FL
25-1Season complete. Florida Class 4A state champion. Cameron McCurry, who is headed to Villanova on a football scholarship, proved to be the star in another type of football, netting the match-winning goal in the state final. McCurry's header in the fourth minute of overtime lifted Fleming Island to a 2-1 victory over Seminole for the school's first state title. Fleming Island trailed in the match until Brandon Behr, the team's leading scorer, tied the match in the 70th minute.

28-1-2Andrew McInnis, whose brother was the star in last year's state title run, delivered both goals as St. Paul's is heading back to the state final following a 2-0 victory over Brother Martin.

18-3-4Season complete. Florida Class 5A regional runner-up. After knocking off St. Thomas Aquinas in the regional semifinals, Monarch was handed a 4-0 loss by Boca Raton. The lopsided setback brought an end to a season that saw Monarch tie top-ranked Cypress Bay and win the District 11-5A regular season and tournament titles.

19-2Season complete. Florida Class 5A regional semifinalist. Under a new head coach, St. Thomas Aquinas carried on its winning ways before falling to Monarch in penalty kicks in the regional playoffs. The highlight for Aquinas this season a 4-1 victory over No. 15 American Heritage-Delray.
