2012 Elite 11 Regional camp dates set

Elite 11 webisode 6: Stanford
The road to becoming the nation's top high school quarterback began on Wednesday when the dates and locations of the Elite 11 Regional camps were announced.
The six events will take place in Dallas, Atlanta, New York City, Columbus, Ohio, Oakland, Calif., and Las Vegas.
Now entering its 14th year, the Elite 11 Quarterback Competition is a five-day event featuring the top high school quarterbacks in the nation. The select participants will focus on improving their quarterbacking play both on and off the field.
Past players to participate at the event include Heisman Trophy winners Jason White, Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart, Troy Smith and Tim Tebow. Drew Brees, Jay Cutler, Ben Roethlisberger, Aaron Rodgers, Josh Freeman, Matt Schaub, Matthew Stafford, Mark Sanchez, Colt McCoy, Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert and Andrew Luck have also participated.
High school juniors interested in being considered for the Elite 11 event are encouraged to workout at an Elite 11 Regional camp, the schedule for which is below and is also available on the Elite 11 homepage. There they will receive advanced, one-on-one quarterback instruction. Top performers will earn a spot in the final Elite 11 event in July in Southern California.
To secure a spot in one of the 2012 camps, prospective quarterbacks can send in a highlight DVD or link to film to be evaluated or have their coach recommend them as a top-level QB prospect. The final quarterbacks will be selected after thorough tape evaluation, a telephone interview and an in-person workout at either a Nike Football Training Camp or an Elite 11 regional camp.
The regional camps run two hours. The first hour quarterbacks rotate through different stations, learning useful drills to improve each player. The second hour participants will throw routes to wide receivers. The quarterbacks will begin with three-step drop throws (hitches, slants) and then progress through the passing tree with five- and seven-step drop throws. Each regional camp will also have an accuracy competition.
