Murray throws eight TDs in Plant win
The nation's top high school quarterbacks are back in action. Each week, ESPN RISE will track the performances of the Elite 11 quarterbacks.
Results based on games through Sept. 27.
HOW THEY FARED THIS WEEK:Tahj Boyd -- Phoebus (Hampton, Va.)
College: West Virginia
Boyd sat out Phoebus' 35-0 win over Heritage with a sprained knee suffered the previous week against Warwick. Boyd hopes to return to action against Gloucester.
Richard Brehaut -- Los Osos (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.)
College: UCLA
Brehaut and the Grizzlies suffered their first loss of the season at Vista Murrieta, falling 38-21 after jumping out to a 21-7 second quarter lead. Brehaut had a big game despite the loss, throwing for a season-high 343 yards and two touchdowns.
Allan Bridgford -- Mission Viejo (Mission Viejo, Calif.)
College: California
The Diablos are pushing for inclusion in the ESPN RISE FAB 50 rankings after waxing Vista 42-20 Friday. Bridgford continued his early season tear in the win, passing for a school-record 442 yards and four touchdowns, hitting 18 of 30 attempts.
Raymond Cotton -- Meade (Fort Meade, Md.)
College: Auburn
Cotton had another solid outing this past week, hitting 18 of 33 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns, but it wasn't quite enough, as Meade fell to 2-2 on the year with a 28-20 loss at North County.
Garrett Gilbert -- Lake Travis (Austin, Texas)
College: Texas

The running game was clicking for Lake Travis early, so Gilbert only threw 18 times, completing 13 passes for 161 yards and three touchdowns, in an easy 50-9 win over Killeen in the Cavs' district opener.
Andrew Maxwell -- Midland (Midland, Mich.)
College: Michigan State
Maxwell bounced back from the worst game of his career to have maybe his best, completing 12-of-14 for 174 yards and five touchdowns as Midland moved to 5-0 with a 56-7 win over Flint Northern.
A.J. McCarron -- St. Paul's Episcopal (Mobile, Ala.)
College: Alabama
There will be some tough nights for St. Paul's this fall after losing so much talent from last year's senior class, and Friday's game against Russellville was one of them, as the Saints were pasted, 41-7. McCarron did throw for St. Paul's lone score.
Zach Mettenberger -- Oconee County (Watkinsville, Ga.)
College: Georgia
The Warriors got in the win column this past week thanks to a virtuoso performance from Mettenberger, who threw for 222 yards and four touchdowns, the last of which gave Oconee a last-second, come-from-behind, 27-26 win over Franklin County.
Aaron Murray -- Plant (Tampa, Fla.)
College: Georgia
A week after tossing seven scores against Tampa Middleton, Murray one-upped himself, throwing eight first-half scores to seven different receivers in a 63-6 rout of Riverview. Murray now has 1,049 yards and 19 TDs in his last three games.
Bryn Renner -- West Springfield (Springfield, Va.)
College: North Carolina

Renner earned ESPN RISE East Region Player of the Week honors for his efforts in West Springfield's 49-27 win over Annandale. He completed 20 of 24 passes for 322 yards and four scores while also running for 47 yards and another TD.
Tom Savage -- Cardinal O'Hara (Springfield, Pa.)
College: Rutgers
Savage figures to be airing it out a little more in the coming weeks after O'Hara standout junior RB Corey Brown suffered a knee injury in the Lions' 31-7 win over Dunbar of Washington D.C. Savage threw for 200 yards and ran for a touchdown in the win.
Eugene Smith -- Miramar (Miramar, Fla.)
College: Undecided
Smith was a perfect 8 for 8 passing for 185 yards and three touchdowns as Miramar stayed undefeated with a 34-0 win over Piper.
