East Region Player of the Week
David Miller
Greensburg Central Catholic (Greensburg, Pa.)

The senior running back continued a strong season with 30 carries for 191 yards and one touchdown in a 14-10 victory over previously unbeaten Wilmington (Pa.) in the Class AA state semifinals. Miller, who also recorded numerous tackles as a defensive back in the win, has now rushed for 2,424 yards and 38 touchdowns for the season. He will lead Greensburg Central Catholic (13-2) into the Class AA state championship this weekend against Lancaster Catholic (Lancaster, Pa.).

Southeast Region Player of the Week
Kelvin Taylor
Glades Day (Belle Glade, Fla.)

Just a freshman, Taylor rushed for 213 yards on a state championship record 42 attempts and four touchdowns in a 27-20 overtime win over Warner Christian (South Daytona, Fla.) in the Class 1B final. Taylor is the son of New England Patriots running back Fred Taylor. The younger Taylor posted 1,158 yards and 19 touchdowns in the Gators' four postseason games, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Midwest Region Player of the Week

Southwest Region Player of the Week
Michael Brewer
Lake Travis (Austin, Texas)

Brewer accounted for seven touchdowns in a 49-12 victory over Dawson (Pearland, Texas) in the Class 4A Division I state semifinals. The junior quarterback completed 11 of 15 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 63 yards on eight carries and scored five times. Brewer's TD runs were from 6, 50, 1, 1 and 4 yards. For the season, he had 4,252 yards and 41 scores through the air with 585 yards rushing and 23 scores on the ground. Lake Travis won its 45th straight game and will go for its third straight state championship this weekend against 14-1 Longview.

West Region Player of the Week
Jordan Johnson
Sheldon (Eugene, Ore.)

The three-year standout and son of Sheldon head coach Marty Johnson has been running a spread offense all season that would make Jeremiah Masoli of the nearby University of Oregon Ducks proud. In Sheldon's 50-43 win over Jesuit (Portland) last weekend in the Class 6A state final, Johnson completed 18 of 26 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns. He also scored on a 26-yard run and caught a 29-yard touchdown pass. For the season in leading his unbeaten team to the state title, Johnson passed for 3,264 yards and 44 touchdowns while rushing for 1,083 yards and 19 more scores.
