Elem Ibiam of Fayetteville, Ga. (ESPN HoopGurlz)
The Gamecocks' class is a little different than the rest, as No. 43 Kayla Brewer actually entered school a year early. Her running start program in high school earned her so much college credit that she jumped into Dawn Staley's lineup with the 2010s.
But Brewer isn't the only ranked player. In-state star Aleighsa Welch signed with the Gamecocks. The 6-foot forward, ranked 88th overall in the class, is a rebounding machine and the program should look into Windex as a sponsor for next season. She has some range for a frontcourt player and shows she can coexist with other talented players and impact the game without getting dozens of isolated touches on offense.
Elem Ibiam, a 6-3 post from Fayetteville, Ga., is the third signee and the three-star prospect is intriguing. Athletically she looks to be the ideal SEC post player but the skill set hasn't caught up. She committed early to Staley's program as a junior, then reopened her recruitment before deciding she had it right the first time.
