Megan Buckland of High Point, N.C.
The Tar Heels have some impact pieces graduating after this season, so this four-player class, which includes three in the top 100, will have a chance to be the next wave for the program. The class includes the type of athletes Sylvia Hatchell has historically showcased with an infusion of versatile skill players.
Brittany Roundtree, ranked 53rd in the class, and Danielle Butts, who is 79th, bring the speed and quickness that has been the hallmark of UNC hoops. Roundtree has point guard skills as well as deep range, while Butts is a speedster with lock-down defender potential.
Megan Buckland joins Butts as the two in-state signees. Buckland is a 6-foot combo guard who can push the break or knock down jumpers from the wings. Her length makes her a factor on defense, as well.
The fourth commit is 6-1 Whitney Adams, a versatile four-star forward from Lombard, Ill.
UNC had no changes to its 2011 class in the late period but the program has been landing commitments in several of the upcoming classes.
