Madison Cable of Pittsburgh, Pa.
(ESPN HoopGurlz)

The Fighting Irish landed three prospects during the early period and have one to give in the spring after Kalpana Beach changed her mind and signed with Ohio State. A trip to the NCAA Championship game boosted recruiting in the 2012 class but wasn't enough to make the popular spring rumor that No. 7 Justine Hartman would be South Bend-bound after being released by UCLA.

Notre Dame added depth at the point guard position when Whitney Holloway, a four-star prospect, committed two years ago. Muffett McGraw's top recruit is Pittsburgh's Madison Cable, ranked 52nd in the class. Like Holloway she is a hard-working kid who gets the most out of her ability on every possession.

Keeping in line with the theme of hard working for the Notre Dame class is post Markisha Wright. The 6-foot-3 post has a high motor and works the glass well. She is athletic but hasn't refined her offensive skills in the half court yet.
