Alexyz Vaioletama of Fountain
Valley, Calif.
(ESPN HoopGurlz)

The Trojans add two players from the 2011 class' top 16 spots as well as depth in the frontcourt, which has been thin in recent years.

The two-headed monster of wing-forward Alexyz Vaioletama and point guard Ariya Crook-Williams provides a fantastic headline that is Southern California to its roots. The Mater Dei High School and Long Beach Poly stars are used to winning. Vaioletama will bring strength and explosiveness to the wing with the ability to contribute at forward when needed. Crook-Williams will get the benefit of having Ashley Corral and Jackie Gemelos to show her the way for a season before having the team's leadership potentially thrust upon her.

The third signee in Michael Cooper's class is Deanna Calhoun, a complementary post player who has the size, strength and agility to be an impact defender and rebounder if she can adjust to the more physical college game.

As a whole the class adds talent and depth up and down the roster and should help USC stay in the mix as the conference expands to 12 teams in 2011. No high school prospects were added in the spring but Kate Oliver did transfer in from Marist in May. She will sit a year before joining the Trojan frontcourt for the 2012-13 season.
