Duke started the 2012 class with two perimeter players, but the Blue Devils are in on at least one more uncommitted top 100 player, and added one in September. The potential remains for coach Joanne P. McCallie's haul to change considerably.

The biggest news to date came in August when Alexis Jones of Irving, Texas, committed. The five-star guard is ranked third overall in the class and is one of the most explosive scorers in the country. Her ability to create instant offense fills a direct need and continues a trend of recruiting classes at or near the top, nationwide.

Duke's second piece is an ultra-smooth shooting guard, Sierra Moore. With Moore the Blue Devils replace both wing players, Kathleen Sheer and Shay Selby, set to graduate this season.

September brought the Blue Devils a 6-4 interior player, Katie Heckman of Centennial, Colo. Jordan Adams of Irvine, Calif., decided to drop Duke and Destinie Gibbs of Decatur, Ga., gave a verbal to Ole Miss. But McCallie's program is in good shape with the players already committed and still is in the mix with highly ranked guard Nirra Fields.
