Canadian-born Nirra Fields.
When first-year coach Cori Close got to Westwood, she scored early recruiting success by picking up two key perimeter additions in four-star guards Lauren Holiday of Chatsworth, Calif., and Kari Korver of Paramount, Calif. Both Holiday and Korver, who committed before the summer evaluation period, are among the top 100 players in the country and should fit in well with the brand of basketball that Close plans to play. Holiday is an elite athlete who proved that she is one of the better defenders in the country, and Korver is a very good perimeter shooter who should bring a lot to the offensive side of the floor.
During the early signing period, Close and her staff struck gold once again as they managed to add a dynamic perimeter scorer in No. 11 Nirra Fields of Santa Ana, Calif. The addition of Fields to the Bruins' 2012 recruiting class gives them three guards that complement each other well, with Fields being the marquee piece of the class.
