Raise your hand if you expected Oregon State to have one of the best recruiting classes in the Pac-12, let alone the nation. Credit second-year coach Scott Rueck and his staff for landing the best Beaver class in quite some time.
The Beavers inked two players in the top 100 with No. 41 Jamie Weisner of Clarkston, Wash., and No. 92 Samantha Siegner of Albany, Ore., signing National Letters of Intent. Weisner had a breakout summer, proving she is one of the premier shotmakers in the class. Siegner is a 6-2 wing who will be a real matchup problem because of her length and how she's developed her dribble-drive skills.
Oregon State picked up two more signees with three-star point guard Khadidja Toure of Richland, Wash., and three-star forward Deven Hunter of Keizer, Ore. Both prospects should give the program immediate upgrades at both positions.
Last year this was a program that was battling to put enough players on the court. The Beavers go from that to landing players to increase overall talent, as well as individuals who fit the style with which the program wants to be identified.
