ESPN Player Evaluations

Tierra Ruffin-Pratt is one of the best periemeter defenders in the country, maybe the best. She has an aggressive and strong way about her that enables her to attack the opposition not just on the offensive end but also on the defensive end. She won't back down from a challenge and has guarded some the nation's best offensive players and not just at her position. She can keep up with the point guards and battle for position with some big forwards.

Offensively Ruffin-Pratt is super strong off the dribble and can get to the cup or go to her spin move into five-to-seven-foot short jumper. She has improved her three-point shooting a lot in the past year but it takes her a little too long to get it off. She'll need to speed up her release to get it off consistently in college. For most high school competition she is so explosive on her first step that she usually has room to shoot if she needs it.

Ruffin-Pratt rebounds well on top of defending and scoring. She pumps her teammates up with her energy and is a definite impact player at the shooting-guard position. She can play some point as well but having her slash off the wings will only help her get the ball in better position to score. Truly one of the class's best players. Summer of 2008 Ruffin-Pratt was slowed by several injuries. Even when those injuries heeled she wasn't in the same shape she was previously.
