Burakoski, the 6-foot junior out of Mary Louis Academy in Queens, is being hailed by many in the metropolitan area as the star of the 2009 class. She already has done some near-legendary things, such as a triple double (33 points, 15 rebounds, 10 steals) against Bishop Kearney and her 27 points during a playoff game on the ballyhooed Christ the King floor, on the high-school level. She didn't get much of a chance to show her stuff during the Metro Classic, as the game predictably turned into a duel between the guards, with some of the bigs getting into the act on the glass. However, Burakoski showed enough to merit some of the advance hype about her. She is long and quick, with a very smooth stroke from long distance. She has excellent ballhandling skills, including a quick, compact crossover dribble, and can pose some matchup difficulties at the next level with her size.
