ESPN Player Evaluations

Summer 08:Adrienne GodBold first drew praise from ESPN HoopGurlz for her athleticism and toughness defensively during the Nike Regional Skills Academy in Indianapolis. Not only did she confirm what we saw in May she showed even more. The 5-11 guard from Chicago's Marshall High School can shut the opposition's top player down defensively and make life miserable on the offensive end. She is explosive which leads to many defenders giving her a cushion but that's when she's got you because she can flat out shoot the rock. The swing guard for the Illinois Hustle shot the ball extremely well throughout the tournament. She could be a little more consistent going to her off hand but overall she had a great tournament. Nike Skills May 08: GodBold was probably the most explosive athlete in the gym at the Indianapolis Nike Regional Skills Academy. Her hops and explosive movement are comparable to Shacara Rucker, although she's not quite as big. GodBold is tenacious and when she smells the blood in the water she attacks. She made a couple of kids that were simply not trying look ridiculous and even mixed it up with the posts on some drills. Her first step is quick and powerful; she can also handle the ball and finish at the rim. She shot off the dribble a little from mid-range but was sporadic in hitting the longer range shots. Her shooting mechanics are not bad but footwork and repetition are needed to be a truly good shooter. At Nike Nationals later in the summer she shot the ball well from three-point range.
