Midwest Showdown-May 09: DFW's Kelsi Baker is incredibly active on the interior. She is rarely the tallest front court player, but it doesn't matter because she still scores against the biggest and baddest. She has wide shoulders and uses them perfectly to protect the ball around the basket. What is great about her game offensively is that she can create offense from the blocks or face-up from the mid-post and she's fearless. She is an aggressive player, which is the only way she can play the forward position at such a high level at 6-0. There are more well-known names on this T-Jack team, but she is a big part of the team's success.
Boo Williams-April 09: Kelsi Baker of DFW Elite-TJack is a physical presence on the court and force to be reckoned with in the paint. The Texan is a tenuous, relentless defender who is not afraid to mix it up. At 6-1, she can step away from the paint and make plays off the dribble. She always seems to be around the ball and her strong build allows her to rebound in traffic, which usually results in her getting to the foul line. Baker plays with an enforcer-like mentality -- the harder you come at her, the tougher she plays.
Summer 08: Kelsi Baker is a flat-out gamer. The 6-0 forward from Mesquite, Texas isn't your prototypical anything, but if she is on your roster she'll be on the floor more often than not. Her wide shoulders make her a tough player to handle in the paint and she is very agile for her size. She has some perimeter skills as well with enough handle to get to the cup. When she gets there she is a good finisher. In college where everything is a littler quicker and faster, being in top-shelf shape will benefit her greatly as her natural feel for the game is nothing short of fantastic.
