Midwest Showdown-May 09: On a team of defensive juggernauts, Kristen Grant is one of the best. She showed the quickness to defend any of the perimeter positions and the strength to defend on the interior as well. Offensively she has really progressed. She can exploit smaller defenders both from the wing and by posting on the block. She showed both power and finesse moves around the cup. She's shooting the ball better and finding the confidence to create her own shot in the halfcourt. She made some impressive, but difficult, shots. The challenge now is learning when to take those shots and when to get deeper into the lane.

Summer 08: Kristen Grant doesn't have the name recognition of a few of her DFW teammates but her contributions do not go unnoticed. For an underclassman she has plenty of strength at either guard position and defensively she has the potential to be a force. She has the lateral quickness to keep up with most guards and the physical strength to hold her position if she beats the ball to the spot. As the Arlington, Texas, product grows and becomes more confident offensively she will need to be more assertive as those same attributes that make her such a force defensively could also make her a big factor offensively. She handles the ball well enough to utilize her athleticism. She could very well be one of the overlooked surprises in the class from the loaded state of Texas.

Nike Skills May 08: Strong, physical two-guard with good quickness. Showed the ability to overpower defenders and play solid defense against top shelf competition. Needs to prove her range from the three-point arc. From the mid-range her shot is fantastically smooth and fluid. With more strenght building there is no reason to believe she cannot develop a consistent three-point stroke.
