ESPN Player Evaluations

Derby Classic-July 09: Richa Jackson of the KC Select club team is ranked among the nation's best -- No. 3 in her class -- and against a feisty Dayton Lady Hoopsters team she showed why. She is bigger, stronger and more explosive than most at the high school level and even the college level. She plays a physical brand of basketball which sometimes leads to player-control fouls. She delivers the bump to the defender and explodes up into the air for her finishes. She is capable of carrying a team. When you look for a weakness you point to her 3-point shooting: she can knock it down from behind the arc, but becoming more consistent so defenders have to play her tight will only make her game that much better.

Showtime Nationals: strong; great hands; great spin move to split double team from the high post; can also play on the perimeter; can start the break; stays active; nice high release from the foul line.

Deep South Classic-April 09: It's difficult to imagine a scenario in which Jackson cannot excel. She's got as good a pull-up jump shot as there is in the class. The last time we saw her, we pegged her as a forward, but she's definitely perimeter material with an ability to drop down onto the boxes against many matchups. Jackson is built like a tank and scores with power and against contact. If a defense tries to faceguard and deny her the ball, she can get the ball in the backcourt and looks perfectly comfortable running her team. She has good handles and goes very strong to her left.
