ESPN Player Evaluations

Fila Nationals-July 10: This 5-9 guard from York, Pa., was one of the top guards at this year's Nationals. She was not afraid to attack the basket at the slightest of opportunities. Her willingness to penetrate often drew fouls on eager and anxious defenders who often were hindered by Schrann's craftiness and creativity with her ball skills. Once at the foul line, Schrann displayed a great shooting stroke. Her mid-range game consists of a nice runner or floater that she executed in the mid-key and along the baseline. A willing passer to any and all, she has the ability to play either guard spot effectively. (Powell)

Summer Showcase-July 10: This 5-9 point guard from York, Pa., started the summer off hot at the the USA Invitational at Penn State. She continued that momentum into the Summer Showcase. She is Miss In-Charge on the floor. She plays the point position with a strength and poise, but what stood out was when the defense started playing her as a distributor, she was able to create scoring opportunities for herself and with some flavor. She has deceiving quickness and her mastery of handling the rock allowed her to crossover on some really quick defenders. Her pull-up jumper has great form and trickles the net with good consistency. (Hansen)

Schrann continues to show why she may well be one of the most versatile point guards still available in the 2011 class. In transition or halfcourt you want the ball in her hands. Her decision making is going to get the best look for her team and often that look may well be her own. Off the dribble she can get to the rim, shoot the pull up or make a defender pay with a well read step back. Her ability to read defenders allows her to make the smart pass and create opportunities for her teammates on the catch. If effort counts for anything, Schrann is your girl at either end. Loose balls and errant passes are a good bet to end up in her hands. She makes those around her better. (Lewis)
