ESPN Player Evaluations

USJN Great Plains-May. 11: As always she's a presence anytime she walks on the floor. Her size and reach give her an impact at both ends but not quite yet to the degree it should be. Easily runs the floor with any teammates or opponents and can be a factor on the break offensively and defensively. Struggled to catch the ball at times in this event. Still creating her looks with her mobility with great effectiveness. Next addition to her arsenal should be the refinement of her post moves from situations that have her isolated on the block. Can she create her own looks on the catch? (Lewis)

Long, rangy post. Body coordination is starting to come together. Finished around the basket better than in previous evals. Will run the floor on transition. (Clay)

Deep South Classic-April 10: She is showing improvement in all aspects of her game, especially footwork. She is already a tremendous shot blocker and is understanding how to do it without fouling.

Solid offensive skill set with step thru and other moves in her arsenal. A lot of length and she can run the floor well. Good hands through traffic and can finish with contact. Establishes early position and can read the defense. (Gray)

One of those players who catches your eye the moment she walks on the floor. Her size and length are impressive by themselves but it's her ability to get up and down the floor and her agility may set her apart from others her size. On her flashes from high to low or block to block she leaves opponents standing. the post moves have evolved and she still utilizes the hook to her advantage. At the defensive end she can be an imposing presence with her wingspan. Showing lots of advancement with lots of room for more. (Lewis)

Chicago-Oct. 09: The Lady Broncos' Diamond Thompson is turning heads already. The 6-3 post has the size and build that recruiters drool over and with four more years of school, there's lots of drooling to be done. In addition to her size she's fluid in her movement and has tremendous agility. Her lower body is solid and allows her to post up offensively and move people off the block defensively. She already has a hook shot in place and with her exceptional reach it could ultimately become an unstoppable weapon. Thompson did double time this weekend playing with the X-citement as well the Broncos. The only limits are the ones she places on herself.

Derby Classic-July 09: Lombard, Ill., is home to Michala Johnson, the No. 24 prospect in the 2010 class. She is not playing this summer while rehabbing a torn anterior cruciate ligament, but Diamond Thompson is holding it down for Lombard in her absence. She will join Johnson next year at Montini Catholic and the two should comprise one of the best frontcourts in the country. At 6-4, she has a wing span that allows her to play even taller. She has the athleticism to run the court if she doesn't secure the rebound herself. She is starting to get confidence is some back-to-the-basket moves and is already an impact player on the defensive end because of her shot blocking.
