- 3-star P Derreyal Youngblood commits to an SEC program
- Derreyal Youngblood of Harvey, La., has verbally committed to Louisiana State University, according to her club team coach, Clarissa Davis-Wrightsil of TeamXpress. The 6-foot-4 post is a senior at John Curtis Christian High School in New Orleans, La.
"Youngblood, better known as 'Tank' on the court, told me that she chose LSU over the other schools she considered because she is looking forward to the opportunity to play for head coach Nikki Caldwell," Davis-Wrightsil said, "and ultimately, she wanted her family to be able to see her play."
Youngblood, who has a high 3-star rating, is the second player to commit to the Tigers in the 2012 class. She joins four-star combo guard Danielle Ballard of Memphis, Tenn. The 5-9 guard is ranked 24th in the ESPNU HoopGurlz 100.
