- 3-star P Jasmine Jenkins to stay in-state
- Jasmine Jenkins of San Ramon, Calif., has verbally committed to the University of Pacific, according to her club team coach, Kelly Sopak of the Cal Stars adidas. The 6-foot-2 post also considered CSU-Fullerton, George Washington, Gonzaga, Navy, Nevada, San Jose State and UC-Riverside before deciding on the Tigers. She made the pledge to head coach Lynn Roberts after making two unofficial visits this week.
"Jasmine and her family fell in love with the campus, the coaching staff and all that a private school can afford her," Sopak said. "Also, UOP moving to the West Coast Conference and being within an hour from home played a part in her decision."
Jenkins, who is rated a three-star prospect by ESPN HoopGurlz, is the second player from the 2013 class to commit to Pacific. She joins Halie Bergman of Turlock, Calif., a 5-8 guard who is rated a two-star prospect.
