- 2-star PG Ashley Deary picks the Big Ten
- Ashley Deary of Flower Mound, Texas, has verbally committed to Northwestern, according to her father, Vaughn. She also considered Kansas, New Mexico, Penn, Rice, Southern Miss, TCU, Texas State and Vanderbilt, before deciding on the Wildcats.
"Ashley took an unofficial visit and attended the NU elite camp," her father said. "Ashley was very impressed with the coaching staff and excited about how they want to use her at the PG position. Ashley also wanted to attend a school with high academic standards and have the opportunity to play basketball at a high level, such that the Big Ten offers."
Deary, who is rated a two-star prospect by ESPN HoopGurlz, is the third prospect to commit to Northwestern in the 2013 class. She joins Nia Coffey of Minneapolis, Minn., who is the No. 41 prospect in the ESPN HoopGurlz Super 60, and Christen Inman of Katy, Texas, a four-star prospect.
