- 2013 G Meredith Shipman chooses a MAC program
- Meredith Shipman, the 5-foot-8 guard from Fort Wayne, Ind., has verbally committed to Western Michigan University, according to Gil Farley, her Spiece Gym Rats-Fort Worth club team coach. The three-star rated prospect is the first Bronco-commit in the 2013 class.
"Meredith is a very athletic and explosive player who is a great long-range shooter," Farley said. "She will be able to make an immediate impact in the MAC conference and Western Michigan is a great fit for her. She really fell in love with the academics and campus, and built a strong bond with coaching staff on her several unofficial visits."
"Western Michigan is getting a great offensive player with all the skills to make an immediate impact in college," Ryan Gould, her Snider High School coach, said.
Shipman committed while on an unofficial visit on Aug. 17.
