- Sabrina Engelstad of Brentwood, Calif., has verbally committed to Saint Mary's College, according to her club team coach, Kelly Sopak of Cal Stars adidas. The 6-foot-3 post also considered Cal State-Fullerton, Fresno State, Loyola Marymount and UC-Irvine, before deciding on the Gaels.
"She cited the private school education, strong academics and the ability to play in an uptempo post friendly system at St. Mary's," Sopak said in an email.
Engelstad, who is rated a two-star prospect by ESPN HoopGurlz, is Saint Mary's first pledge from the 2013 class.
