A pair of 76ers decide on the Big South
Aliyah Kilpatrick, the 5-foot-8 point guard from Charlotte, N.C., and Juliette Love, the 6-1 post from Columbia, S.C., have both committed to Winthrop University, according to Roger Wiley, their South Carolina 76ers club team coach.

"Aliyah Indicated she was most enthused and excited about the coaching staff at Winthrop," Wiley said in an email. "She feels they are special and loves the coaching staff's attitude about thriving to be the best. She indicated that she was thrilled by the overall quality of the university including its beautiful campus and welcoming environment. She also thinks it will be great to play in front of friends and family so close to home.

Kilpatrick is rated a four-star prospect by ESPN HoopGurlz. The rising senior at East Mecklenburg High School also considered North Texas, Southern Illinois, Virginia Commonwealth, East Carolina, UAB and George Washington.

"(Love) felt that the coaching staff was experienced and could help her reach her maximum at the college level," Wiley added. "She stated Winthrop had the ideal blend of academics, campus environment, proximity to home and great coaching staff."

Love, a rising senior at Spring Valley High School, also considered Central Florida, Stetson, Charleston Southern and Francis Marion.
