- No. 18 Brittney Martin commits to the Big 12
- Brittney Martin confirmed to ESPN HoopGurlz in a text message that she verbally committed to Oklahoma State this weekend while on her first official visit. She also considered Cal, UCLA and Washington. She set visits up with Cal and UCLA but won't likely take those with the commitment.
"She was not anticipating committing going into the visit, but once she was there, and on campus, she really felt like she had found a home away from home," Mary Waters, her club coach, said. "She had an instant connection with the coaching staff, the players, and loved to college-town atmosphere of Stillwater. It felt very comfortable to her, not so different from her hometown of Syracuse, here in Utah."
Martin, a 6-foot wing from West Point, Utah, is the first commitment for the Cowgirls in the 2012 class. She is the No. 3 rated wing in the class.

- No. 35 Brittney Martin picks four schools for official visits
- Brittney Martin, the No. 35 prospect in the ESPNU HoopGurlz 100, has narrowed her list of schools and has set official visits with four school. According to her Utah Flight club team director, Mary Waters, 6-foot wing from West Point, Utah, will make visits to Cal, Oklahoma State, UCLA and Washington.
Waters said those four schools also are working with Martin to schedule in-home visits in September.

- No. 35 Brittney Martin updates her list during the break
- Brittney Martin, the 6-foot wing from West Point, Utah, told ESPN HoopGurlz she has added some schools to her list. Currently leading are UCLA, Oklahoma State, Cal and Washington, with Arizona State, Colorado. Utah, BYU and Nebraska.
Martin had hoped to cut her list to five by the end of July but isn't thinking that it will happen now.
"I wanted to get it done this month but I'm looking at the end of (August)," Martin said.
Martin intends to take her official visits in the fall, which will be made easier by her decision not to play volleyball her senior year at Syracuse (Utah) High School.

- Brittney Martin, the 6-foot wing from West Point, Utah, has rescinded her verbal commitment to the University of Utah, according to her Utah Flight club team coach Mary Waters.
"(Martin) just feels like she made her decision too quickly," Waters said in an email to ESPN HoopGurlz. "and that she has too many unanswered questions about other programs."
Martin committed to the Utes on in August of 2010 after the news broke that Utah would be joining the Pac-10. Waters said Utah is still in the mix, but Martin has reached out to schools pursuing her previously to reopen dialogue. She initially had Arizona State, Cal and UCLA as finalists when she committed to Utah.

- 2012 superstar Brittney Martin picks Utah, will stay in state
- One week after trimming her list of schools to four, Utah Flight standout Brittney Martin has made her choice, deciding to stay in state and play for the University of Utah, according to her club coach, Mary Waters of the Utah Flight. Martin's decision comes after the 2012 prospect blew up on the circuit, catching the eye of many college coaches with her combination of athleticism and strength.
Considered the best player to come out of the state since Michelle Harrison (who went on to play at Stanford), Martin chose the Utes over UCLA, Arizona State and Cal. She had been on all four campuses in the last few weeks, and decided to pull the trigger early.
"Brittney always knew that she wanted to play in the Pac-10, so when Utah was added to the Pac-10 earlier this year, it made her choice much easier," Waters said. - Brittney Martin, the standout wing-forward from West Point, Utah, has narrowed her college choices to four, according to her Utah Flight club coach Mary Waters. The 6-foot junior from Syracuse High School is down to Utah, UCLA, Cal and Arizona State.
Martin has been on all four campuses, recently adding UCLA with an unofficial visit. She has been to elite camps of the other three.
Long considered a star within the state of Utah, Martin used a strong spring and summer travel season to blow up on the national scene. Though expanded rankings do not come out until late August, she is poised to be the highest ranked player since McDonald's All American Michelle Harrison cracked the top 40 in 2006.

- Soph Brittney Martin leads 102-point explosion
- Brittney Martin, a 6-foot forward in the 2012 class, had 25 points, five rebounds and five assists as Syracuse (Utah) High School beat Davis 102-40 on Tuesday night. Syracuse's 102 points was the third-highest total for a girls' game in state history, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
Martin compiled her personal totals in only 2 1/2 quarters of play, according to her club coach, Mary Waters of the Utah Flight.
Syracuse and Davis both are 5A schools, the highest classification in Utah.
