- No. 56 Asia Dozier to continue legacy at SEC school
- Asia Dozier of Columbia, S.C., will follow in the footsteps of her father Perry and uncle Terry and play for South Carolina, according to her club coach, Roger Wiley of the South Carolina 76ers.
The No. 56 prospect in the ESPN HoopGurlz Super 60, Dozier also considered Kentucky, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and North Carolina, Wiley said.
"Asia says that the University of South Carolina coaching staff is amazing," Wiley told ESPN HoopGurlz in an email message. "Asia has full confidence in coach (Dawn) Staley's ability to help her develop to her full potential."
A 5-foot-11 guard, Dozier has been a three-time, all-state selection at Spring Valley (Spring Valley, S.C.), which finsihed 29-0 and was ranked No. 4 in the Powerade Fab 50 this past season. Dozier averaged 18.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists as a junior for Spring Valley, where Xylina McDaniel, No. 20 in the Super 60 is a teammate.
