Rising senior Lisa Mifsud chooses a Patriot League program
Lisa Mifsud, the 5-foot-7 point guard from Erie, Pa., has verbally committed to Holy Cross, her Erie Saints club team coach, Doug Chuzie, told ESPN HoopGurlz. Following the spring NCAA-certified viewing period her recruitment picked up with schools from the MAAC, NEC and the Patriot League making offers before she decided on the Crusaders.

"Everything happened so fast, but I realized right away that Holy Cross offers the type of education that I most value," Mifsud said in a statement released by Chuzie. "Their basketball program has a great history of success and (head) coach (Bill) Gibbons and (associate head) coach Mac (Ann McInerney) are genuine people that have my utmost respect. My visit was wonderful and I just thought how lucky I am to find a great fit for me this early in the recruiting process. I'm so excited to join The College of the Holy Cross."

Mifsud, a three-star prospect in the 2012 class, was first team All State as a junior at Villa Maria Academy. The starting point guard averaged 13.4 points, 4.5 assists and 3.4 steals per game and helped lead her team to its third straight Class AA state title.
