- 4-star PG Caroline Coyer sets assist mark on pass to twin Katherine
- In storybook fashion, Caroline Coyer broke the Virginia state AAA record for career assists on a play that produced the 1,000th career point for her twin sister, Katherine.
The Coyer twins' connection came during the last minute of a 54-45 victory by Oakton (Vienna, Va.) over Robinson (Fairfax, Va.) on Friday night that improved Oakton's record to 20-0.
Caroline Coyer, rated a four-star prospect by ESPN HoopGurlz, has 532 career assists, topping a mark that had stood for 20 years. She'd already broken the school record for career assists, previously held by Jasmine Thomas, now with the Washington Mystics of the WNBA.
The 5-foot-10 point guard, who along with her sister is headed to Villanova, is expected next week to join Thomas as the only players in Virginia state history to surpass both 1,500 points and 500 assists.

- Coyer sisters choose Big East
- Caroline and Katherine Coyer of Oak Hills, Va., committed to Villanova, according to their father, Chris.
The twin sisters, who vowed to select a school as a package deal, also considered James Madison, Pitt, Saint Joseph's and Texas Christian.
A 5-foot-10 point guard, Caroline Coyer was named Northern Virginia Player of the Year, first-team, Washington Post All-Metro and first-team, all-state. She is on pace to log 1,500 career points and 500 career assists for Oakton (Vienna, Va.). She would become the second player in Virginia AAA history to reach both milestones; the first was Jasmine Thomas, who went on to make All-America at Duke.
Katherine Coyer, 5-11, is a two-time, defensive player of the year in Northern Virigina, and is on pace to score her 1,000th career point next season.
