G Nicole Boudreau surpasses 2,000 career points

Nicole Boudreau became the 60th player in the history of Massachusetts to top 2,000 career points, doing so with 32 points during a 63-47 win for Andover (Mass.) over Central Catholic (Lawrence, Mass.) on Friday night.

ESPN Boston's reigning Miss Basketball, Boudreau needed 13 points headed into the game, and currently sits at 2,019.

The 5-foot-10 guard, rated a three-star prospect by ESPN HoopGurlz, also had 10 steals, eight rebounds and three assists as Andover improved to 20-0. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for Boston College.

Boston College gets top 50 junior for its 2012 class

Alexa Coulombe, the 5-foot-11 wing player from McAuley, Maine, gave her verbal commitment to Boston College her New England Crusaders club team coach Kara Leary told ESPN HoopGurlz.

Coulombe is the No. 44 prospect in the ESPNU HoopGurlz Super 60. She burst onto the scene in May at the Nike Regional Skills Academy and had a solid summer with the Crusaders. She is BC's first verbal commit in the 2012 class.

Shayra Brown helps topple nationally ranked St. Michael

Shayra Brown, a Boston College-bound guard who played with Exodus during the summer, came back and bit her club-team coach, leading Bishop Ford of Brooklyn to an upset of the Apache Paschall-coached St. Michael 48-45 on Monday.

Bishop Ford (14-2) now owns victories over two of New York's most renowned programs -- St. Michael (15-2) and Christ the King.

A 5-foot-10 guard, Brown had 12 of her 15 points as Bishop Ford built a 13-point lead by halftime. Brown added seven rebounds and four assists.

Tiffany Ruffin is poised for the ACC

Tiffany Ruffin, a 5-foot-8 guard from Seabrook, N.H., has given a verbal commitment to Boston College, according to her New England Crusaders club team coach Kara Leary. The Winnacunnet High School star will join Ayla Brown and Stefanie Murphy from the Crusaders club program. Leary stated location as a major reason she chose B.C., as well as playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

BC lands Super 60 prospect Kristen Doherty

Kristen Doherty, ranked 22 on ESPN Hoopgurlz Super 60, has verbally committed to play basketball at Boston College for the 2010-2011 season, according to Newsday.com. The 5-10 point guard averaged 28 points, 5.6 steals, 3.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists per game and has scored 1,691 career points. The Sachem East junior has also helped lead her team to the Suffolk Class AA county championship game for the second consecutive season.

Senior Mary Nwachukwu verbally committed to continue her basketball career at Boston College for the 2009-2010 season, according to the Boston Herald. The 6-foot-2 forward led the state in scoring last year and averaged 30 points, 18 rebounds, and 6 blocks per game. In 2010, Massachusetts native Katie Zenevitch will join her at BC.

No. 24 junior Katie Zenevitch verbals to Boston College

Katie Zenevitch, a 6-foot-3 forward from Lawrence, Mass., verbally comitted to Boston College and head coach Sylvia Crawley. The Eagle Tribune reported she was on campus this past weekend for an unofficial visit during BC's home football game against Central Florida. She called Crawley on Monday to make the commitment.

Zenevitch is ranked No. 24 in the nation for the class of 2010 by ESPN HoopGurlz. The starting center for Lawrence's Central Catholic High School averaged a double-double last season with 14.8 points and 14.5 rebounds per game wile leading them to the Division I North finals.

BC nabs Archbishop Carroll's Kerri Shields

Archbishop Carroll's star basketball player, Kerri Shields, orally committed to play for Boston College in the fall of 2009, as reported by Hoopgurlz. The 5-foot-10 point guard chose BC despite the recent coaching change. "It set me back a little bit, but I really like the new coach. She's a nice woman, seems to have a good vision for the future. It still was the best fit for me."

Shields had also been considereing St. Joseph's where her mother played basketball and now works. She also looked at Conneticut, Vanderbilt, and Villanova.
