Junior F Sarah Curran pledges to a Colonial program
Sarah Curran of Media, Pa., has verbally committed to Drexel University, according to her club team director, Linda Genther of the Philly Comets. The 6-foot junior forward chose the Dragons over interest from other Colonial programs as well as schools from the Atlantic-10.
"She is a versatile athletic forward who can hurt you both inside the lane area and take you away from the basket and shoot the three," Genther said in an email. "She has tremedous hands and is able to guard both post players as well as small forwards. She plans to major in engineering and Drexel is a perfect fit with its world-renowned engineering program."
Curran is averaging 13 points and 8 rebounds per game for Archbishop Carroll (Radnor, Pa.), which is ranked 49th in the lastest POWERADE FAB 50 national team rankings.

F Pandora Wilson commits to CAA program
Pandora Wilson of Gaithersburg, Md., has committed to Drexel University, according to her club coach, Robert Hildreth of the Maryland Lady Terps.
The 6-foot-1 forward also considered Marquette, Delaware, William & Mary, Central Florida, Mount St.Marys, Cincinnati, UMBC and Towson.
" Pandora is excited to be part of the Dragons women's program," her mother, Elfrida Wilson, said in an email. "She felt very comfortable with the staff, their vision, the facilities and education she would receive at Drexel.
Wilson last season made the game-winning putbackfor the Academy of Holy Cross (Germantown, Md.) to end the unbeaten streak of nationally ranked St. John's College (Washington, D.C.).

G Carrie Alexander goes Colonial
Carrie Alexander, the 5-foot-9 guard from Bowie, Md., has given a verbal commitment to Drexel, according to an email from Robert Hildreth, her club coach with the
Maryland Lady Terps. The senior at Bishop McNamara High School (Clinton, Md.) also considered William and Mary, South Carolina, Delaware, Mount St. Mary's and Syracuse.
"She has the offensive potential and scoring mindset that should make her an impact player in the CAA," Hildreth said.
Alexander is the third commitment for the Dragons in the 2012 class. She joins a pair of highly regarded perimeter players from Archbishop Carroll High School (Radnor, Pa.) in 5-11 wing Rachel Pearson and point guard Meghan Creighton.

Drexel nabs Archbishop Carroll's Hollie Mershon
Hollie Mershon, a 5-foot-10 wing from Archbishop Carroll High School, has committed to Drexel University of the Colonial League, according to her club program director. Mershon chose Drexel over Elon and Mt St. Mary's, said Linda Genther of Comets AAU Basketball in the Philadelphia area.
Mershon averaged eight points and four rebounds at Archbishop Carroll High School in Radnor, PA. Her Carroll teammate Kerri Shields earlier verballed to Boston College. Mershon is the sixth Comet to make a Division I commitment, joining Shields, Diamon Beckford (New Hamshire), Danielle Callahan (LaSalle), Devon Kane (Villanova) and Alicia Manning (Lafayette).

2009 prospect Ashley Davis orally commits to Drexel
Upcoming senior Ashley Davis verbally committed to play basketball for Drexel University for the 2009-2010 basketball season, according to digitalsports.com. The 5-foot-9 guard chose Drexel over Richmond, St. Joe's and Loyola. "When I visited Drexel, I just thought it was the complete package."
