"Mackenzie is a heady point guard with good handles and sees the floor well," Butler head coach, Larry Just said. Ohio post player picks Morehead State
MacKenzie Arledge, a 6-foot-1 post player from Chillicothe, Ohio, has given a verbal commitment to play at Morehead State, according to her high school coach, Cyndy Driggs of Unioto High School.
As a three-year varsity starter at Unioto, Arledge has recorded a 64-5 record and helped lead her team to three league titles. After averaging 16.5 points, 12.7 rebounds and 3.2 blocked shots last season as a junior, Arledge was named first team all-league and honorable mention All-Ohio.
"Mackenzie has put in a tremendous amount of effort and hard work to become a dominate inside player," Driggs told ESPN HoopGurlz in an email. "She has a love and passion for the game of basketball that is contagious ... We are excited that she has chosen to further her education at the collegiate level and will continue to play basketball at a highly competitive Division I level such as Morehead."
