W Robin Perkins gives NEC program its third 2012 commit
Robin Perkins of Willingboro, N.J., has verbally committed to St. Francis of the Northeast Conference, according to her club team coach coach, Keith Gilchrist of the NJ Sparks Elite. The 5-foot-10 wing also considered Drexel, Memphis, Riemann, and UNC-Greensboro.
"She loved the family environment at the school and she wanted to stay close to home," Gilchrist said in an email.
Perkins, rated a 2-star prospect by ESPN HoopGurlz, is the third player to commit to the Red Flash from the 2012 class. She joins 3-star point guard Rebecca Sparks of Teaneck, N.J., and 6-0 wing Brooklyn Taylor of Greenville, Pa., as St. Francis pledges.

Rebecca Sparks of Teaneck, N.J., has verbally committed to St. Francis (PA), according to her club team coach, Keith Gilchrist of the NJ Sparks Elite. The 5-foot-5 point guard also considered Central Connecticut State and Fairleigh Dickinson.
Gilchrist said Sparks chose St. Francis because, "when she went on her official visit to St. Francis it felt like home."
Sparks is the second 2012 player to commit the Red Flash. The 3-star prospect joins Brooklyn Taylor of Greenville, Pa., a 6-foot wing, in Saint Francis recruiting class.

Brooklyn Taylor picks NEC school
Brooklyn Taylor, the 6-foot wing from Greenville (Pa.) Senior High School has verbally committed to the St. Francis Red Flash, according to Doug Chuzie, her Erie Saints club team coach. She also considered offers from several schools in the MAAC, MAC, NEC and Sun Belt Conferences.
"Coach Robinson Fruchtl and the staff at St. Francis are outstanding coaches and people. I have gotten to know them very well over the past two years and I am very comfortable with the coaches and the team," Taylor said in a statement. "The recent success of the program was also a strong draw for me. I love the university as a whole, with the size fitting my personality as well."
The Red Flash were 22-12 this past season, winning the NEC conference tournament and advancing to the NCAA Tournament where it faced Maryland on its home floor.
Taylor averaged 19.0 points, 7.1 assists and 7.4 rebounds as a junior for Greenville, while playing for her father, Scott Taylor. Through three years of high school basketball, Brooklyn has scored 1,177 points and has made 128 career threes.
"Brooklyn has the reputation as a knock down shooter with deep range," Chuzie said. "She also has a high basketball I.Q., as she is a coach's daughter."

Hope Phillips, a 6-foot-2 forward from Bishop Eustace Prep School in New Jersey, has given a verbal commitment to play at St. Francis in Pennsylvania.
Phillips played in the Philly Belles club system, playing this summer with the Belles - Godwin team.
