2013 Watch List G Tesha Buck commits to a Horizon program
Tesha Buck of Oakdale, Minn., has verbally committed to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, according to her club team director, Bill Larson of North Tartan. The 5-foot-10 guard is a highly regarded three-star prospect and on the ESPNU HoopGurlz 100 Watch List for the 2013 class.
Buck, a junior at Red Wing (Minn.) High School, helped lead her club team, North Tartan 15U, to the championship game of Nike Junior Nationals this past summer, a move that really helped her develop her leadership without inhibiting her exposure.
"It was a huge piece of that," Larson said of having Buck take the reigns of the U15 team for the club season,"and she showed off her game and got to be the leader on the floor that she'll need to be in college."
The commitment was a big of a shock with the wealth of calls pouring into Larson about Buck, from several BCS conferences, but her fit with the Phoenix style of play cannot be denied. She is the first pledge for head coach Matt Bollant in the junior class.
