G Sha'Nice Storey joining teammate in SF

Sha'Nice Storey of Portland, Ore., committed to the Academy of Art University, according to her club coach, Bryon Sheng of the Oregon Reign, who also coaches her at St. Mary's Academy (Portland, Ore.).

The 5-foot-9 guard will be joining her Reign and St. Mary's teammate Zoie Sheng at AAU, which is located in San Francisco, Calif.. She plans to study graphic design.

"I get to play college ball, study one of my passions, live in one of the biggest cities in the world, and I get to experience this with my best friend," Storey said via Sheng on email. "With this one decision, I was able to accomplish four of my goals. It's a dream come true."

Storey was a first-team, all-league selection in the Mt. Hood Conference and a state 6A all-tournament and honorable-mention, all-state teams after averaging 14 points and 5 rebounds as a junior. She and Sheng helped St. Mary's to its first league title since 1994, as well as a fourth-place finish in the Oregon 6A state tournament.

PG Zoie Sheng to pursue both art, hoops

Zoie Sheng of Portland, Ore., has committed to the Academy of Art University, according to her father, Bryon, who also coaches her at St. Mary's Academy (Portland, Ore.) and the Oregon Reign club basketball team.

The 5-foot-5 point guard was a first-team, all-league selection as a sophomore and junior at St. Mary's, and was honorable-mention, all-state after helping her school to a Mt. Hood Conference title and fourth in the state 6A tournament last year.

"Zoie fell in love with the idea of being able to pursue a dream of majoring in the arts and playing basketball at the college level," Bryon Sheng said of his daughter.

Zoie Sheng also was named to the West Linn Holiday Classic all-tournament teams in 2009 and 2010. In 2011, as well as an all-tournament selection for her play at the Lake Oswego Shootout. She participated in the Nike Skills Academies n 2010 and 2011 and in 2009 was a member of the Candace Parker Aces that traveled to Japan.
