G Sophie Bashin is headed to the Northeast Conference
Sophie Bashin of San Bernardino, Cali., has verbally committed to Long Island University, according to her FBC club director, Ray Mayes.
"Bashin is a crafty slasher that can fill it up from mid range," said Mayes. "Sophia is a physical combo guard that finishes well in traffic. She defends with her length by getting out in passing lanes and using angles. Sophia is a total team player with a great work ethic."
The 5-foot-7 guard out of Cajon High School in San Bernardino, Cali., averaged 14 points, five rebounds, and nearly five steals as a junior. She was also an all-state and Sporting News all-american honorable mention.

Roberts, a Long Island University signee, had eight of her team-high 18 points during overtime, while Edwards chipped in with 14 points and six assists.
Pensacola senior Jasmine Richardson shared game-high honors with Roberts, scoring 18 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Richardson also pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds. The guard duo combined for 33 points during Pensacola?s semifinal win over Jefferson 65-46 on Friday afternoon.
