W Lindsay Baker chooses MAC program

Lindsay Baker of Warsaw, Ind., has committed to the University of Toledo during an unofficial visit earlier this week, according to her club coach, Gil Farley of the Spiece Gym Rats Fort Wayne 2013s.

The 5-foot-10 wing also considered Bowling Green, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, Miami (Ohio), and Western Michigan.

"Lindsay felt a strong connection with Coach (Tricia) Collup and her staff and feels like she can fit in with their style of Basketball," Farley said via email. "Lindsay is a very versatile player and also a great shooter, who also has a deep understanding of the game of basketball. Her intensity and focus is top notch and she has the ability to have an immediate impact in the MAC conference. Academically, Toledo specializes in her desired field of study so this is a good fit in all aspects."

Baker is a junior at Warsaw (Ind.), where she averaged 9.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.2 steals as a sophomore.

Junior Stephanie Rucker tells Toledo she's in

Stephanie Rucker, a 6-foot junior wing-guard from Pandora, Ohio, gave her verbal commit to the University of Toledo and head coach Tricia Cullop.

Rucker's commitment was confirmed by ESPN Hoopgurlz her mother, Sue, on Wednesday. According to her mother she was receiving interest from 50 schools including Indiana, Louisville and Wisconsin.

"Everything about Toledo she loved," Sue Recker said of her daughter.

Recker wants to be a sports trainer and her recruiting process with Toledo was pushed over the top when she was able to talk with the team trainer about balancing a medical focus in school with being an athlete.

The rising junior played her summer ball with the Ohio Magic and previously she played with Northwest Select.
