USA Basketball released the 26-player roster that will compete for the 12 roster spots on the U18 national team. All of the invitees find themselves in the ESPNU HoopGurlz 100 in either the 2010 class or the 2011 class.

The 2010 class top-ranked prospect and Stanford signee, Chiney Ogwumike of Cypress, Texas, headlines the talented pool of players. Other top-25 prospects from the senior class include Kaneisha Horn (No. 5) from Birmingham, Ala., Richa Jackson (6) from Midwest City, Okla., Alyssa Thomas (7) from Harrisburg, Pa., Karla Gilbert (9) from College Station, Texas, Cassie Harberts (11) of San Clemente, Calif., Bria Hartley (14), from North Babylon, N.Y., Afure Jemerigbe (15) of Stockton, Calif., Sara James (18) of El Dorado Hills, Calif., Haley Peters (19) of Red Bank, N.J., Kayla McBride (20) of Erie, Pa., Laurin Mincy (23) of Newark, N.J., and Meighan Simmons (24) of Cibolo, Texas.

Eight invitees are ranked among the top 70 in the class of 2011 by ESPN HoopGurlz, including six ranked in the top 40 -- Morgan Jones (No. 11) from Altamonte Springs, Fla., Cassie Peoples (21) of Houston, Reshanda Gray (25) of Los Angeles, Brittany Boyd (30) of Berkeley, Calif., Amber Orrange (35) of Houston, and Raven Ferguson (39) of Columbus, Ohio.

In the 2011 class, 16 additional prospects were invited to the U17 World Championships Team trials, which will be held at the same time as the U18 National Team trials at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. FIBA classifications are based on date of birth and thus the 2011 class has players participating in both team trials.

University of Hartford head coach Jennifer Rizzotti and assistants Sue Semrau (Florida State), and Joi Williams (Central Florida) will lead the eventual 12-player roster against the best teams in the Americas, June 23-27, for a potential bid to next year's U19 World Championships.

Rizzotti, a graduate of Connecticut in 1996, will find three future Huskies vying for a spot on her team -- Stefanie Dolson of Port Jervis, N.Y., ranked No. 39 in the 2010 class, Hartley and Walker. The coaches are not on the selection panel.

While the Connecticut Huskies lead all schools in the number of recruits invited, four other schools have two players invited to trials -- California, Duke, Maryland and Stanford.
