ESPN will release the ESPN RISE FAB 50 national girls' soccer winter rankings each week of the regular season and playoffs, continuing through the final matches of the Texas state playoffs.

What a week for Kayla Bala.

The Florida-bound senior at George Jenkins (Lakeland, Fla.) helped her high school team cap a second straight undefeated regular season, then flew to St. Louis to collect her All-America award at the NSCAA Convention.

This week, it will be back to business for Bala, George Jenkins and the rest of the Florida schools as postseason play gets underway.

The big mover in this week's FAB 50 is Hebron (Texas), which debuts at No. 12. Last year's team climbed into the FAB 50 Top 5 before an early playoff exit banished the squad to a lower ranking. Hebron and Lake Highlands square off this week in a match with national ranking implications.

Results through Jan. 18.

In the final, The Woodlands defeated McKinney Boyd 4-2. 4 Torrey Pines (San Diego) 7-1-2 4 The top-ranked San Diego team has a chance, through the Southern Regional Championships, to possibly play two or three FAB 50 Top 10 teams in March. 5 San Clemente (San Clemente, Calif.) 16-2-1 5 Alexis Mahoney scored twice as San Clemente edged Capistrano Valley 3-2 in overtime to run its undefeated streak to 10 matches. 6 Aliso Niguel (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) 13-1-2 7 The of the top defensive teams, Aliso has managed only 24 goals this season - but as allowed only three. 7 Melbourne (Fla.) 16-0-1 11 Melbourne is on a playoff path to meet No. 24 Oviedo in the Class 6A state semifinals. 8 Cardinal Gibbons (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) 23-0-2 12 Cardinal Gibbons' playoff run might only contain one match against a regionally ranked opponent. 9 Westview (San Diego) 12-1-3 13 Westview, whose lone loss is to San Clemente, continues to climb in the FAB 50 as the No. 2-ranked squad in the San Diego area. 10 Los Alamitos (Calif.) 12-2-4 16 Sisters Kelsey and Lindsey Salcido netted the goals as Los Alamitos knocked off Esperanza 2-1 in overtime last week. 11 Esperanza (Anaheim, Calif.) 14-2-1 6 Esperanza bounced back from a 2-1 overtime loss to Los Alamitos with a 2-0 victory over Fountain Valley. 12 Hebron (Texas) 6-0-1 NR Hebron was the surprise team in 2008 and it's happening again. The team is off to an undefeated start while many of the projected top teams in the Dallas area have taken early losses. 13 Allen (Texas) 4-0-3 13 Allen remains undefeated, but a pair of draws last week causes a slight move down in this week's FAB 50. 14 Coppell (Texas) 5-1-1 10 Coppell is riding a six-match undefeated streak as it nears district play. 15 Wilson (Long Beach, Calif.) 13-2-3 17 Wilson defeated Lakewood 1-0 last week and its coach was not there to see the end.
