Got Game San Antonio/Austin
Who's got game? Each month, ESPN RISE finds out. Here are the athletes we recognized in October:
COLTON PALMER & LOGAN VICK TIVY - FOOTBALL
Palmer shredded Roosevelt's defense in a 49-28 win on Aug. 29, piling up 324 yards through the air on 29-of-32 passing and playing a role in all seven of the Antlers' touchdowns. Palmer, a senior, tossed for four scores, rushed for two more and caught a TD pass. His most exciting touchdown of the evening was his 55- yard reception on a pass by Logan Vick on a wide receiver reverse pass play. Vick, a senior, had a huge night as well, catching two of Palmer's TD passes and hauling in 11 receptions overall for 190 yards.
JESSICA O'SHONEY HUTTO - GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL
Change has been ever present for O'Shoney of late. Her team is facing a serious change this fall, jumping from Class 3A to 4A. A playoff mainstay at lower classifications the past two decades, the Hippos hope to prove they have the skill to succeed at any level. Change is also impending for O'Shoney, as the 6- foot-1 senior middle blocker has committed to play collegiately at Virginia. A two-time district MVP and All-State selection, O'Shoney is no doubt up to both challenges.
