Got Game Greater Detroit
CARSON BEAUCHAINE
FRASER BASEBALL
Beauchaine left very little room for improvement in his game against Harper Woods on April 9. The senior pitcher and Saginaw Valley State recruit struck out 20 of the 22 batters he faced and allowed only one hit in seven innings of work, helping Fraser to an 8-0 win. Beauchaine had a no-hitter until the top of the seventh, and he also had three hits, including a home run, and five RBIs in the contest.
SHELBY JACKSON
WOODHAVEN GIRLS' SOCCER
After Woodhaven lost its first game of the season, the defense tightened up a little, and Jackson, the team's goaltender, tightened up with her team. The senior recorded four consecutive shutouts, the fourth of which came in a win over Redford Thurston on April 8. Jackson made six saves, all coming in the second half, as the Warriors beat Thurston, 2-0.
CHRIS SOLODON
ALLEN PARK CABRINI BASEBALL
Solodon had pitched two scoreless innings for Cabrini, but his team was deadlocked in a 1-1 game against Royal Oak Shrine on April 4. Though the senior was doing his part on the mound, Solodon didn't stop there. He led off in the bottom of the ninth with a double, then reached third on a bunt. When senior teammate Ray Yesh walked and distracted the pitcher by attempting to steal second, Solodon stole home for the 2-1 win.
