2012 September Sizzle Meet Info


5TH ANNUAL SEPTEMBER SIZZLE

Hosted by Xavier College Preparatory, Palm Desert
Sponsored by Running Wild Palm Springs

• The Sizzle is a beginning of the season, relay style Cross Country race, allowing for all athletes to get a strong start to the season on a fast and challenging course.

• Competing on an all-dirt, desert loop-style course, each member of the 3-person relay team will race over a 2.5 K course.

• Have your team take part in one of the more unique cross-country races of the season, and in some of the most extreme conditions here in Southern California!!

• Team scores will be based on the first four relay teams from each school to finish, with the top boys and girls teams to be awarded the team championship.

• Each competing high school will be allowed unlimited entries in both the Relay and Open races for one low, low price!!!

Entries: Please contact Head Coach Aron Lyons for entry forms. Entries are due no later than Tuesday, September 4th. Each school is allowed unlimited Relay and JV entries (i.e., you may enter as many 3 person relay teams as you like, although only the top four from each school will count towards the team score).

Awards: Medals to the top 20 athletes in the JV/Open race; Trophies to each member of the winning relay team for both Boys and Girls divisions, medals to each member of the 2-5th place relay teams; Trophy to be presented to the top Boys and Girls High School team (four relay teams).

Entry Fee: $100.00 per school, unlimited entries

Misc: There will be a food concession (BBQ, Carne Asada), Shoe and Clothing Vendors, Live Music and a "Cooling Station" for after the race!!! T-shirts will also be available, with each coach receiving a free T-shirt!!!
