Four outstanding runners take Golden Stripes titles

SATURDAY HIGHLIGHTS
** - Girls Golden Stripes-1,600: US#7 4:50.71 for Alli Cash KS to win a terrific race as 5 broke 4:58. Two heralded freshmen, Rebekah Topham IA and Hannah Long MO, took 2nd and 3rd in 4:53.37 and 4:53.45. Cash will need a 4:50 mile or the 1,600 equivalent to assure a spot in the adidas Dream Mile. She also won Friday's 800.
** - Girls Golden Stripes-100: 11.66w (+2.7) for Tianna Valentine MO in the Golden Stripes race, beating prelim winner Peyton Cheney MO (11.73). Valentine was under the qualifying time for the adidas Dream 100, but with an aiding wind. Yet she is reportedly expected to make the field for the race in NY.
** - Boys Golden Stripes-100/1,600: 10.61w (+2.1) for Kenzo Cotton NE, who will hope to run under 10.5 in a future meet to qualify for the Dream 100. Drew White MO won the longer race in 4:19.35 and will need to run a 4:10 mile to make it.
** - G-4x200/4x400: 1:42.64 and US#14 3:49.64 for Evanston Twp. IL in dominant victories.
** - B-4x100/4x200:: Another relay double for Grandview MO, with 42.62 and 1:28.23.
** - B-110H: A smoking 13.75w (+2.3) by Dapo Akinmoladun MO, a time that would have smashed the MR with a legal wind.
** - B-DT: US#16 186-10 by Steven Deshazer MO.
** - G-400: US#17 55.28 for Whitney Adams MO, missing the meet record by just .11 seconds.
** - G-LJ: 18-10 LJ (nwi) by Emily Brigham KS to complete a PV/LJ double.



FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS
** - B-JT: US#4 207-11 for Garrett Griffin KS as he tops 211-footer Tyson Holmes (184-10).
** - G-JT: US#4 151-10 for Elizabeth Herrs KS, as she wins by more than 10 feet.
** - G-300H: US#7 42.35 300H for Margaret Bamgbose IL as she dominates the field.
** - G-3,200:10:33.35 for Samantha Nightingale MO as she tops Maggie Montoya AR 10:36.65.
** - G-800: 2:13.99 for Alli Cash KS in a narrow win over MO frosh Hannah Long (2:14.11) and Jahnell Horton IL (2:14.27).
** - B/G-100: 10.67w for NE soph Kenzo Cotton and 11.75w for Peyton Chaney MO as they lead qualifiers into Saturday's Golden Stripes 100s.
** - B-3,200: Battle of MO and KS cross-country stars sees Blake Herriott MO 9:17.15 to beat Jacob Morgan KS 9:18.75 and Drew White MO 9:20.69.
** - B-3k ST:US#1 steepler Nate Moore is almost 30 seconds off his best, but still wins easily with 6:24.60.
