ESPN RISE Announces Boost Mobile Elite 24 Event Sponsors

First Two Players for 2008 Event Announced

ESPN RISE announced today that Boost Mobile will return for the third year as the title sponsor for the Boost Mobile Elite 24 event. Boost Mobile has been the title sponsor of the event since it was founded in 2006 by RISE Magazine, an ESPN RISE publication. Additionally, Under Armour will join the event as a sponsor for the first time as the official apparel provider.

Held at New York's Rucker Park on Friday, August 22, the Boost Mobile Elite 24 game will feature Class of 2009 high school phenoms Lance Stephenson (Lincoln High School, New York, N.Y.) and Derrick Favors (South Atlanta High School - Atlanta, Ga.) - the first two players selected to play. ESPN RISE will continue to announce the roster during the next month.

"Boost Mobile and Under Armour have a proven track record working with ESPN and its assets, their involvement along with our other marketing partners is a testament to the caliber of the Boost Mobile Elite 24 event," said James Brown, senior vice president, ESPN RISE. "Their contributions in the high school sports arena are numerous; we look forward to a long and productive relationship."

Additional marketing partners for the Boost Mobile Elite 24 event include equipment provider Spalding and New York City-based radio station Hot 97, an Emmis Communications property.

"We've enjoyed a long-standing relationship with ESPN RISE," said Stacy Stewart, events manager, Boost Mobile. "As one of Boost Mobile's premier events, we are thrilled to be back at Rucker for the third consecutive year."

Steve Battista, Under Armour's Senior Vice President, Brand said: "Rucker Park has an unmatched reputation for displaying the highest-level of on-court performance. The young athletes competing in the Boost Mobile Elite 24 are playing to be immortalized with the legends that came before them and we're honored to provide them with the performance apparel that will enable them to perform their best."

Lance Stephenson

Stephenson, who returns to the Boost Mobile Elite 24 for his third year, is the latest great playmaker at Lincoln High School - following great Lincoln Alums Stephon Marbury and Sebastian Telfair. The 6-foot-6 guard has led the Railsplitters to three city titles and two state championships and is known for his clutch performances including dropping 27 points in this year's city title game and 16 points and 12 boards in the state championship game.

Derrick Favors

As a junior last season Favors averaged nearly a triple-double (23.7 pts, 17.1 rebs 9.1 blks) and at 6-foot-9 reminds many of fellow Georgia-native Dwight Howard. The reigning Gatorade State Player of the Year award winner delivered one of his signature games against nationally ranked senior forward Terrelle Pryor and Jeannette High School (Jeannette, Pa.) squad when he delivered a 42-point, 20-rebound, and 12-block performance.
