Here's a preseason look at the players to watch in Atlanta:
Mettenberger, who has committed to Georgia, has
seen his recruiting stock skyrocket during the past
year. He is rated the nation's No. 7 quarterback in
the ESPNU 150.
Tate is one of the top prospects in the nation for
football and baseball. The son of former Georgia
and NFL running back Lars Tate, Donavan is a standout
quarterback and defensive back on the gridiron.
Kight may lack size for a linebacker, but that hasn't
stopped him from dominating. He was named The
Atlanta Journal-Constitution Class AAAAA Defensive
Player of the Year last season after his 153 tackles.
Vasser made plays all over the field last season en
route to 138 total tackles, a ridiculous 36 tackles for
loss and 12 sacks. He'll take his playmaking skills to
Georgia next year.
AN AREA COACH ON JONATHAN DAVIS:
"I was gonna say he made strides as a junior, but he
made a couple pretty good runs on us our sophomore
year, too. He's a pretty good athlete. I think
the thing on him most colleges identify is just his
height. But he's an intense player, a good player."
